The present Wheeler school plant is located at #1 Mustang Drive and consists of approximately 27 acres of land. The main school building was completed in 1967 and houses the kindergarten through the 12th grade.

The red brick structure has 23 classrooms, a spacious auditorium, a modern cafeteria, a well- equipped welding shop and the business offices. The attractively landscaped school ground consists of a football field, various practices fields and playgrounds, as well as an all - weather track and three tennis courts.

The wheeler School System has evolved into a modern, progressive facility that resident can point to with a great deal of pride.

Within the next two or three years, several more families moved in and a community sprang up a ways north of school city. On July 11, 1904, the building was moved near the site of the Wheeler Cemetery. After the town of Wheeler came into being, the building was mobbed again near the southwest portion of the present school properties and an addition was built.
